Have you ever wondered how the ancient terracotta warriors were made over 2000 years ago in China? Over 8000 pottery warriors along with life-size horses, chariots, stone helmets, armor and bronze weapons were first discovered and 1974. After 36 years of work, excavations still continue today hoping to unlock this mystery.
Come for a half day visit to the Gardiner Museum (morning or afternoon) and build your own miniature warrior inspired from these incredible pieces. Have them fired and maybe your piece will last for 2000 years.
Students will work with a ceramic artist for 1 ½ hours and create some wonderful miniature warriors. This program is recommended for grade 4 and higher and for those learning about ancient civilizations.
