Animal Stories

Animal Stories

Available for education groups of all levels.

This fall, bring your students to the Gardiner Museum and explore our special exhibit titled: Animal Stories.  This exhibit looks at animals through ceramics from the 17th Century onwards.  Tying in history and fantasy this program is great for all grades.

The half day program consists of a half hour tour of the special exhibit followed by a clay class where students get to make their own little animal creature. *Recommended for K-Grade 4
(We can adapt this program for older grades where students make a small animal tureen).

The full day program allows students the opportunity to further explore the museum galleries including the special exhibit.  Students will engage with their peers with group activities, handling artifacts as well as sketching exercises.

Themes included in this exhibit include Tales from Nature, Out of the Wild, Close to Home, Creatures with Characters, and Flights of Fantasy.

After a morning in the galleries students will proceed to the studios and make their own animal out of clay.  Older grades will create a small animal tureen.
For grades 3 -12

If you would like to book this program please register on-line.  If you are studying other cultures or topics, we can accommodate and tailor the program specific to your group.
