Family Day

Every Sunday

Free with Admission

Ever wonder what to do with your family on a Sunday?  Well look no further! Join our mascots Arabella, Ting, Clayton and Nicco, and bring the whole family to the Gardiner to family-friendly activities — free with admission! Kids under 12 are always free (with the accompaniment of an adult).

Most activities take place in the lobby, but if you don’t see us when you come in, just ask one of our friendly volunteers where they are taking place.

Family Days run from 11 am to 4 pm with activities for children to do on their own or with an adult. Make sure you also check out our discovery boxes, do a scavenger hunt and take some colouring sheets home with you.

We look forward to seeing you here!

Upcoming Family Days:

OCTOBER 5, 2014

Have you ever played the game where you guess how many jellybeans are in a jar?  For some reason our new exhibition reminds me of this game. Piece by Piece, by Clare Twomey has just opened at the museum. Head upstairs to check it out and make your own “piece” out of clay with ceramic artist Jessica in the lobby! How many “pieces” do you think are in display in the exhibition?

OCTOBER 12, 2014

Are you stuffed from eating too much turkey? Take a break from the festivities and come paint a ceramic tile and show us your favourite part of Thanksgiving.  Is it your family, the food, or the weather? No matter what it is, I am sure your will enjoy using your creativity to paint some wonderful tiles.

OCTOBER 19, 2014

The weather is getting colder and there is a cool wind in the air.  Animals are starting to store food for the upcoming winter.  Work with ceramic artist Karen and make your favourite Canadian animal out of clay as they prepare for winter.

OCTOBER 26, 2014

Trick or Treat! Halloween is just around the corner! It’s the perfect time to dress up and roam the street for candies.  Come to the Gardiner Museum and paint a ceramic tile inspired by your Halloween costume, perhaps a ghostly globin or a sparkly fairy.  What will you be for Halloween?
