Family Day

Every Sunday

Free with Admission

Ever wonder what to do with your family on a Sunday?  Well look no further! Join our mascots Arabella, Ting, Clayton and Nicco, and bring the whole family to the Gardiner to family-friendly activities — free with admission! Kids under 12 are always free (with the accompaniment of an adult).

Most activities take place in the lobby, but if you don’t see us when you come in, just ask one of our friendly volunteers where they are taking place.

Family Days run from 11 am to 4 pm with activities for children to do on their own or with an adult. Make sure you also check out our discovery boxes, do a scavenger hunt and take some colouring sheets home with you.

We look forward to seeing you here!

Upcoming Family Days:

JUNE 29, 2014
CLAY

Getting ready for Canada day? Come to the Gardiner Museum to celebrate Canada day through clay. Join ceramic artist Habiba to create your own clay sculptures inspired by the ground up.  Your clay creations should be dried just in time for Canada Day.

JULY 6, 2014
PAINTING TILES

Today is Build a Scarecrow Day and why not design and paint your very own scarecrow on a tile to place in your summer garden or wall.  This is the perfect time to start thinking about scaring crows and other birds away.

JULY 13, 2014
CLAY

Today marks the annual celebration of National BBQ Day. We invite you to create your favourite fresh, locally sourced grilled food and let our ceramic artist Jessica show you how to create grill marks so they look good enough to eat.

JULY 20, 2014
PAINTING TILES

If you have a tasteful palette for sweet goodies, why not join us for a sweet treat.  Paint a tile of your favourite sugary treat as today is Lollipop Day and National Ice Cream Month!

JULY 27, 2014
CLAY

Today is National Parents Day, which is a special day to honor your mother and father.  Ceramic Artist Habiba will guide you through some nifty tricks working with clay to show how much your parent, guardian or caregiver are loved. Build something together, because that’s what today all is about.
