Family Day

Family Day

Every Sunday

Ever wonder what to do with your family on a Sunday? Well look no further! Join our mascots Arabella, Ting, Clayton and Nicco, and bring the whole family to the Gardiner for family-friendly activities — free with admission! Kids under 12 are always free (with the accompaniment of an adult).

Most activities take place in the lobby, but if you don’t see us when you come in, just ask our friendly front desk staff where they are taking place.

Family Days run from 11 am to 4 pm with activities for children to do on their own or with an adult. Make sure you also check out our discovery boxes, do a scavenger hunt and take some colouring sheets home with you.

We look forward to seeing you here!

Upcoming Family Days:

SUNDAY MAY 3, 2015 | 11 AM - 4 PM

Family Day - May 3Are you planning to celebrate Cinco de Mayo? This Mexican holiday commemorates the victory at the Battle of Peubla, but also offers the opportunity to indulge in traditional foods while surrounded by friends and family. In preparation for the holiday, make a replica miniature clay mortar in which to grind your guacamole or salsa. Your Cinco de Mayo meal will be complete!

SUNDAY MAY 10, 2015  |  11 AM – 4 PM

Family Day - May 10Join us on Mother's Day for a tile-painting afternoon. Inspired by different textile designs from the Arts and Crafts movement, we will paint and decorate coasters. To make each tile unique and the perfect gift for your mother, we will write her initials in the center. Don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate your mom with a one of a kind gift!

SUNDAY MAY 17, 2015  |  11 AM – 4 PM

Family Day - May 17

Every year, we celebrate Victoria Day in commemoration of Queen Victoria’s Birthday on May 24. This year, we will be making small clay crowns. To get some ideas, visit our Delftware gallery on the first floor.

SUNDAY MAY 24, 2015  |  11 AM – 4 PM

Family day - May 24

Spring is here and you can start seeing the signs, like flowers and birds. One bird that appears around this time is especially easy to recognize for its bright red chest colour. Can you guess which one? The robin! Join us in the lobby this Sunday for a tile painting Family Day where we will celebrate the season by painting robins.

SUNDAY MAY 31, 2015  |  11 AM – 4 PM

Family day - May 31

Come to Family Day for the last Sunday of the month. Taking inspiration from the flowers in season we will create a jewelry tray. You can design one after roses, lilies or your flower of choice. Join us for a fun afternoon, you can make your clay piece to sort your own jewelry or as a gift for someone else. See you on Sunday!
