Family Day

Every Sunday

Free with Admission

Ever wonder what to do with your family on a Sunday?  Well look no further! Join our mascots Arabella, Ting, Clayton and Nicco, and bring the whole family to the Gardiner for family-friendly activities — free with admission! Kids under 12 are always free (with the accompaniment of an adult).

Most activities take place in the lobby, but if you don’t see us when you come in, just ask one of our friendly volunteers where they are taking place.

Family Days run from 11 am to 4 pm with activities for children to do on their own or with an adult. Make sure you also check out our discovery boxes, do a scavenger hunt and take some colouring sheets home with you.

We look forward to seeing you here!

Upcoming Family Days:

JANUARY 4, 2015

Happy New Year! Welcome the year at the Gardiner Museum and join us this Sunday for the first Family Day of the year!  Celebrate the snowy days ahead and with a sponge to paint as many snowflakes as you can fit on your tile.

JANUARY 11, 2015

Did you know this month is named after Janus, the Roman god of gates, doors and beginnings?  Janus had two faces - one faced forward, the other faced backwards. Welcome January by creating your own sculpture this Sunday at Family Day. Which two faces would you like to sculpt together? Pick one for last year and one for the New Year

JANUARY 18, 2015

Imagine if we could paint on the sky: natural phenomena known as Northern Lights may be close enough. Northern Lights, also called Aurora Borealis, occur when highly charged electrons from the solar wind interact with elements in the earth's atmosphere. The result is an astonishing display of colors in the sky.  Come to Family Day this Sunday and paint a Northern Light-themed tile. Green, blue, red or purple, choose your own!

JANUARY 25, 2015

This is the time of the year to start new projects and make resolutions, what will yours be? If you are thinking of more than one, join us this Sunday at the Gardiner to make clay piggy-banks with Jessica. Learn how to work with clay and fill that piggy bank by starting early!
