Gallery Preludes are bespoke events that bring music and ceramics together for a completely unique experience – one part concert, one part gallery tour. Presented by Soundstreams, in partnership with the Gardiner Museum, Salon 21 is a performance and lecture series featuring and showcasing the work of contemporary Canadian and international composers. Salon 21 takes place every third Friday of the month, and is free with advance online registration.

Join a Gardiner Museum docent for a tour of contemporary ceramics focusing on the creative influencers who’ve brought about transformation and innovation, including notable mentor-mentee relationships. Then hear professional Canadian composers bring student-created lyrics to life in a series of pieces performed by singers and pianists from the Regent Park School of Music.

Art from the past helps us understand the society from which it came. Join us for an anthropological exploration of old Europe through a guided visit to the Gardiner's recently transformed European Porcelain Gallery. Then take in a performance of new work by composer Emilie Lebel, created in collaboration with Jumblies Theatre, a hub for community-driven creativity.
