Family Day

Every Sunday

Free with Admission

Ever wonder what to do with your family on a Sunday?  Well look no further! Join our mascots Arabella, Ting, Clayton and Nicco, and bring the whole family to the Gardiner to family-friendly activities — free with admission! Kids under 12 are always free (with the accompaniment of an adult).

Most activities take place in the lobby, but if you don’t see us when you come in, just ask one of our friendly volunteers where they are taking place.

Family Days run from 11 am to 4 pm with activities for children to do on their own or with an adult. Make sure you also check out our discovery boxes, do a scavenger hunt and take some colouring sheets home with you.

We look forward to seeing you here!

Upcoming Family Days:

MAY 4, 2014

Inspired by the popular science fiction movie Star Wars, join ceramic artist Habiba on a thrilling journey to making your own extraterrestrial creatures out of clay. Does your creature have any special talents or super powers?   The skies the limit when it comes to science fiction.  May the fourth be with you!

MAY 11, 2014

Show how much you love your mothers, grandmothers, aunties or caregivers today as the Gardiner Museum celebrates Mother’s Day.  Paint a tile using our colourful palette of paints to show how special and extraordinary mother’s can be!

MAY 18, 2014

Did you know that today is International Museum Day? What better way to celebrate this special day than by joining ceramic artist Habiba in creating your own miniature clay masterpiece.  Be inspired by our collections of precious ceramic treasures hidden behind glass wall. Some of the pieces are even older than the museum! Explore and celebrate the wonders of clay.

MAY 25, 2014

Doors Open to all! Have you been to this museum before? How about your friends? Bring your friends and family on this special day as the Gardiner Museum opens its doors to all.

Have the ceramic bug embedded in you? Can’t stop those twitching fingers? Why not put those fingers to good use and paint your own ceramic tile for keepsake.  Then show your friends what you painted and they will be sure to join you the next time around.
