PRESS RELEASE
NO ONE DOES CHRISTMAS LIKE THE GARDINER MUSEUM
THE GARDINER MUSEUM OFFERS FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY THIS HOLIDAY SEASON
TORONTO (October 4, 2012) – The Twelve Trees of Christmas gala on November 15, 2012 is the unofficial kick off to the holiday season in Toronto. Presented by Bruce Etherington & Associates and London Life, the spectacular trees unveiled at the gala will be exhibited at the Museum from November 17 – December 9, 2012. Each tree has been decorated by one of Toronto’s top designers including: Hilary Farr, of W Network’s Love it or List it; Michelle Mawby, resident design expert for the Marilyn Denis Show; and Samantha Pynn, host and principal designer of Summer Home on HGTV Canada, as well as contributing design editor for Chatelaine Magazine and a columnist for the National Post.
This year’s Christmas tree theme is “A Child’s Christmas…” celebrating Christmas traditions and festivals of light from all around the world. To kick off this yearly Toronto tradition, the Museum will hold its annual Twelve Trees of Christmas Gala on November 15. Experience a night of glitz and glamour and enjoy a signature winter themed menu created by Chef Jamie Kennedy. The Gardiner is proud to partner with CTV’s Toy Mountain campaign. Gala guests and visitors during the Twelve Trees exhibition are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy and place it under the special Toy Mountain tree “It’s a Toy World After All.” This annual exhibition entertains and engages thousands of children and families. After being exhibited at the Gardiner, the trees go to charities, chosen by the generous individuals and corporations who purchased them, to help spread the spirit of the season throughout Toronto.
