The Gardiner Museum is open seven days a week! Explore our permanent collection, discover special exhibitions, and get hands-on with clay in our studios. We look forward to welcoming you.
Discover an installation of works by American artist Sharif Bey on now in our lobby. Bey's practice is influenced by African and Afro-diasporic aesthetic traditions, as well as ancient Andean ceramics and contemporary popular culture.
Summer will be here before you know it! Don't wait to sign up for the Gardiner's popular summer camps. New this year, all our week-long sessions are full-day multimedia camps, so kids can draw, paint, sculpt, and more.
Every object in our permanent collection can be accessed through our eMuseum portal. Learn about individual collecting areas, like Italian Maiolica or Modern and Contemporary Ceramics, or search the full collection by keyword. You'll be amazed by what you discover!

About THIS CLASS
Our drop-in classes are perfect for potters of all levels. Experiment with various hand building, wheel throwing, and decorating techniques, and then take your creations home with you! You’ll have access to an experienced artist instructor in a professional ceramics studio, including a variety of tools, earthenware clay, and more than 70 commercial brushing glazes.
It typically takes two (2) drop in classes to complete a finished piece—the first for making and the second for glazing. Firing takes two (2) weeks and is generally done once after making and again after glazing. The cost of firing is a minimum of $5 per piece depending on its size, which can be paid at the front desk. You do not have to fire or glaze your piece.

*NO EXCEPTIONS*
Firing takes two weeks to complete, and pieces will be held for an additional 3 weeks. Please check in at the Front Desk and note that there may be a short wait depending on staff availability. We do not provide bags or boxes.
