The Gardiner Museum’s special exhibition, Steven Heinemann: Culture and Nature, is now open! Inspired by the artist’s spectacular body of work, we’ll be holding a related Family Sundays series throughout the exhibition. Come and explore the influence of nature, form, volume, and time on his work, and get the chance to create your own works of art in our studios.
The work of Steven Heinemann sometimes features etchings of flowers, plants, and patterns from nature. Take a look at some of the examples found in his work and then try your hand at creating your own! We will use the sgraffito technique to decorate tiles with our own nature-inspired designs.
