The Gardiner Museum celebrates the art of ceramics and engages local and international audiences by promoting understanding of the long history of people crafting in clay.
Through the display of its permanent collections and special exhibitions, as well as through studio education, programs that engage diverse communities, and major contributions to scholarship, the Gardiner champions ceramics.

The Gardiner Museum is always adding to our collection of both historical and contemporary ceramics. Our current lobby exhibition brings together a selection of modern and contemporary works acquired since the arrival of Chief Curator Sequoia Miller in April 2018 and on display for the first time.

The Gardiner Museum is among the few museums in the world focused on ceramics, and is one of the most important specialty museums internationally. It houses approximately 4,000 objects, including European porcelain, ceramics from the Ancient Americas, Chinese porcelain, Japanese porcelain, and contemporary ceramics. Winter classes will be available for online registration starting Tuesday November 5 at 9 am. Please note that these classes are uploaded manually so it may take several minutes before the entire schedule is posted. We do not release the schedule in advance of registration.
There will be NO in person registration on Tuesday November 5. If you arrive in person you will be instructed to register online. Regular in-person registration hours (10 am – 5 pm) will resume on November 6.
Phone registration will be available at 416.408.5055 starting 9 am on November 5, but please be aware that response times are expected to be longer than usual. Voicemails will be answered in the order that they are received. We highly recommend online registration whenever possible.
New Gardiner Friends: Memberships must be purchased online as a separate transaction prior to purchasing your class in order for your discount to take immediate effect. Please note: Memberships at the “Get Acquainted” are not eligible for class discounts.
Existing Gardiner Friends: If you purchased your membership online, your account was automatically created for you using the information you provided at that time. If you purchased in person or over the phone, you will need to link your membership following the steps below in order to receive your discount. Please email us at email@example.com if you cannot link your membership. All prior membership glitches have now been resolved.

7. At this point you should be logged in and should be able to see your membership details by clicking “MY ACCOUNT” located at the top of any page.

If you make your purchase and were unable to apply your membership discount, include that in the “Order Notes” field upon registration or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please do not wait until you arrive for class to let us know that you did not receive your discount.
