Andrea graduated from Sheridan College Crafts and Design Ceramics with her Diploma in 2013. She has since been working out of the Mississauga Potters’ Guild and in 2016 took on a Resident Artist spot at the Guild. She has been wood firing for the last year as a wood fire lead with Hamilton Potters as well as with Tony Clennel and his group, who also happens to be a fellow Sheridan alumni.

Andrea tends to work in series; she will take on a form for a specific firing and make multiples of those forms, and then examine the outcomes and adjust either for the next firing or pursue an alternate form. Wood firing is a community endeavor, which is what draws Andrea to this firing method along with the flame and atmospheric outcome of the pots.

Andrea has taken on the role of president for the Mississauga Potters’ Guild as she feels that this membership driven organization is also a community where members learn and teach each other, grow and challenge. Andrea has been applying to various shows and exhibitions and has awards under her belt now. She continues to explore, teach and learn.
