Kim Ross: Sculpture titled Black Coral Peaks

10_Process-web

Description

Kim’s work is driven by the desire to make a mark on some unblemished surface like a freshly painted wall, or to walk through a just poured concrete sidewalk.  Black coral peaks reminds the viewer of their own innate desire to touch and mark something.  The textured surface is created by repetitively layering coils and marking them with a finger or wood tool to denote a sense of movement. Hand crafted it will slightly vary in colour, pattern, size and weight.  Retail Feature: Toronto Potters Biennial Exhibition titled FLUX Black Coral Peaks was juried by Denis Longchamps (Executive Director and Chief Curator of The Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery) and Susan Low-Beer (Award Winning Ceramic Artist).
