Odessa’s work of art focuses on ecology and design.  Exploring the relationship of humans and our environment, the artist created an interactive installation of sculptural birds for Nuit Blanche in Montreal & Toronto 2019.  Slip-cast from plastic bird toys from the 90’s, the object is to reflect, focus, meditate and protect the bird from falling as it balances on your fingertip.  Hand crafted each will slightly vary in colour, pattern, size and weight.

Care & Use: Each bird has been glazed using a food- safe mirror glaze, meaning it is a safe object to play with at any age. Though it is a “toy”, it is extremely fragile and to be interacted with carefully to prevent damage or injury. It is a delicate piece, but meant to be enjoyed through calm interactions, a mediation tool, or as decoration.

Material: Porcelain slip-cast body with a metallic food-safe mirror glaze on the exterior.
