Description

These slender, elegent vessels with a band of silver, gold, and contrasting colour wrap fused to the hot glass are named for the traditional belt worn by Japanese women. the cylinders are either round or oval at the top.

About The Artist

Pinzette Glassworks

Bill Burch began taking ceramic classes in high school at The Civic Arts Center in Walnut Creek California. After several years he got a job mixing clay at East Bay Clay in Richmond California, and spent three years as a professional potter at Norstad Pottery. While working at East Bay Clay, a co-worker who was going to California College of Arts and Crafts invited him to go to a glass blowing session at the school. He met Michael Sosin and began assisting him in 1990 at Pinzette Glassworks.  Presently, Bill oversees the company continuing Michael’s classic line of glass while putting a new spin with his glass design.
