About The Artist

Zsuzsa Monostory

Zsuzsa Monostory was born and raised in Hungary, and received her diploma in biology at ELTE University in Budapest. She came to Canada with her family in 1989, and worked in the Mount Sinai Hospital Research Institute until her new passion took over biology. Zsuzsa has been a self-taught fulltime ceramic artist since 1997. Her inspiration comes from architecture, nature, all things living. Perhaps it is her strong inheritance from her past profession that makes the human form, nature and behaviour most intriguing to her. Zsuzsa strives to bring the gestures of human connections and relationships to life in her work.
