KG Ceramics aka Kaas+Kate is a two-person pottery company in Kjipuktuk (Halifax), Mi’kma’ki (Nova Scotia) owned and operated by Kaas Ghanie (he/him) and Kate Grey (she/her). They met at NSCAD University and began making pottery in 2017 together post-graduation (2016). Ghanie became inspired to work in clay during his education at NSCAD under the instruction of Neil Forest, Joan Bruneau and Rachel De Conde. Grey grew up with clay classes in the public school system and decided as a teenager that was the path she most wanted to take in life. Through Ghanie and Grey’s collaboration they both have grown in their applied skill sets and their continued passion for the medium of clay.
