Carly Waito is a Toronto-based designer, potter, and artist. Waitos’s primary medium is wheel-thrown stoneware, with a focus on small-scale decorative and functional pieces. Her aesthetic, honed through many years of experience as a designer, maker, and artist, aims to suggest a thread of connection to precious crafted objects of the past, with a distinctly modern clarity of form and sensitivity to material and colour. Her refined and timeless shapes are adorned with nuanced glazes and surface patterns in a rich palette of colours and subtle textures.
