I create hand-sculpted, handcrafted glass jewellery inspired by candy, nostalgia, and small objects that spark joy. Drawn to transforming familiar forms into miniature glass objects that feel playful while still being carefully crafted. I make this work to challenge the idea that jewellery must be traditional or serious to be considered valuable, and to offer small, accessible works of art that can be incorporated into your everyday life. – Emma Gerard
Material: Emma works in flameworked glass, shaping glass rods using a torch, hand tools, and controlled heat. Each piece is individually sculpted without the use of molds, allowing for subtle variation and refined sculptural detail. The glass “candy” pieces are then acid-etched to create a soft, satin-like matte finish that enhances their realism and tactile quality.
Care & Use: Glass jewellery is fragile and should be handled with care. Although sturdy enough for everyday wear, the glass can break if dropped or struck against hard surfaces. Pieces should be stored separately to avoid scratching or impact, and removed before sleeping, bathing, exercising, or swimming. To clean, gently wipe with a damp cloth, or use a toothbrush with toothpaste for a more thorough clean. Though it looks like candy, this jewellery is for external use only—do not eat!
