Description

Hannah Faas is riffing on the classic Staffordshire porcelain dogs, reimagining them in her signature pastel palette.  Her work explores themes of femininity, domesticity, sweetness, and frivolity, and challenges the perception that sweet and frivolous things are often seen as submissive, naive, unprofessional, and overall lacking value.  Hand crafted each will slightly vary in style, weight, and size.

Care & Use: Decorative only.  Please handle with care.  Clean with a soft, damp cloth.

About The Artist

Hannah Faas

Hannah Faas is an emerging ceramic artist from Waterdon, Canada. Her education includes a Bachelor of Craft and Design in Ceramics at Sheridan College in 2022.  Including an MFA in Ceramics at Kent State University in 2024. Hannah recently completed a year-long residency at LUX Center for the Arts in Lincoln, Nebraska.  Then headed to Medalta in Medicine Hat, Alberta in September 2025 for a month-long residency. Her accomplishments include: a Craft Ontario Emerging Ceramic Artist Award recipient, and first place in the AX National Emerging Ceramic Artists Exhibition in 2023. Along with features in FUSION Magazine and Ceramics Monthly. She exhibits artwork across Canada and internationally in the United States and South Korea. She recently completed her first public art installation in 2025, located in Montréal, Québec. Hannah’s work explores themes of femininity, domesticity, sweetness, and frivolity. Challenging the perception that sweet and frivolous things are often seen as submissive, naive, unprofessional, and overall lacking value.
