Artist Statement:
Julie Moon presents a series of architectural vessels that are painted with glaze designs inspired by different woven textiles. Julie wanted to blend these two subjects into a single object, where forms and exteriors both rely on geometry and the grid system.
Although the graphic surfaces and clarity of forms may be predictable and planned, the final outcome creates a sense of surprise and delight through combined expressions of volume, rhythm and colour.
