Friday Nights at the Gardiner This Summer

Gardiner Museum partners with Toronto’s most innovative and influential cultural players with New Summer Series: DOORS at 6pm

Toronto, ON June 25, 2015—This summer, the Gardiner Museum launches DOORS at 6pm, a series of Friday night cultural experiences free with half-price gallery admission that will animate the Museum inside and out with performances by Toronto’s best emerging homegrown talent working in art, music, film, food, theatre, and literature.

In partnership with some of the city’s most innovative and influential cultural players—including TIFF, Wavelength, SummerWorks Performance Festival, TO Jazz Fest, and The Writers’ Trust of Canada—DOORS at 6pm, taking place from June 26 to July 24, celebrates the vibrancy and diversity of Toronto’s cultural scene, running the gamut from award-winning LGBT writers to experimental psych rock band Fresh Snow.

In addition to a new weekly roster of performances, each event will feature a food truck parked on the Gardiner plaza, local craft beers and award-winning wines served on the outdoor patio, and a clay station where guests can get their hands dirty.

Cultural Hub All Summer Long

“This summer, the Gardiner will be a cultural hub where the most exciting up-and-coming local artists working across disciplines can come together and share their work with the community,” says Kelvin Browne, Gardiner Museum Executive Director and CEO. “Inspired by the Museum’s featured exhibition, the RBC Emerging Artist People’s Choice Award, DOORS at 6pm showcases the city’s best young creative talent.”
