Students will be inspired by wheel-thrown works in the Gardiner Museum’s world-renowned permanent collections to create their own functional and sculptural pieces with earthenware clay and glazes. This course is designed for students new to the pottery wheel.

Wheel Throwing and Surface Decoration: Water Etching (Intermediate-Advanced)

Participants will learn how to water etch their wheel-thrown pieces. Water etching is a decorating technique where a resist design is painted onto clay and wiped away with a damp sponge to create a relief effect. This class is designed for intermediate and advanced students only.
