Artist Tour with Stephen Andrews

What’s On / Programs & Events / Artist Tour with Stephen Andrews

Tuesday May 28, 2024
6:00 – 7:00 pm

Featured artist Stephen Andrews will lead a tour spotlighting his work in the International Ceramic Art Fair (ICAF). He is represented by Paul Petro Contemporary Art in Toronto.

Stephen Andrews is inspired by the form and simplicity of traditional Korean “moon jars.” Stephen created a series of works based on this form, but with each object distinct from the others. The jars are presented alongside a series of paintings of the cosmos, which can be read as both abstractions and as charts, with different registers of time at play. The individual brush strokes measure out the time of their manufacture like grains of sand in an hourglass.
