For ages 18+

Learn the basics of throwing and trimming on the wheel, explore hand-building methods, and finish your pieces with glazing. This 4-week class is suitable for beginners as well as those looking to build on existing skills.

This class includes access to a 5kg bag of clay, glazes, and underglazes. Additional 5kg bags can be purchased for $18 each.

Class Outline:

  • Week 1: Introduction to wheel throwing
  • Week 2: Trimming techniques
  • Week 3: Introduction to hand building
  • Week 4: Glazing

  • Please ensure the course you choose works with your schedule. For any withdrawals, a non-refundable fee of $50 fee per course will be charged, regardless of the reason for withdrawal. Withdrawals will not be accepted for any reason within 10 business days prior to the program start date or after the program has begun.
  • Using the pottery wheel may cause serious injury to a person who has a pacemaker. Consult a physician before use.

Instructor

Salina Ladha


Salina Ladha is a visual artist and educator with over 15 years of experience in the arts. She holds a BFA with a major in ceramics and a minor in painting. Her work has been exhibited across Canada and she has been a guest lecturer at Concordia University, presenting on hand-building and ceramic practices. She brings a thoughtful, hands-on approach to both her practice and instruction.
