Hand Building (Beginner)

For ages 18+
Learn to make functional, sculptural, and decorative pieces using hand-building techniques. Practice sculpting, slab building, coiling, surface decoration, and glazing. This 6-week class is designed for students new to ceramics.
This class includes access to a 10kg bag of clay, glazes and underglazes. Additional bags can be purchased for $35 each.
Class dates: July 10, 17, 24, August 7, 14, 21
No class on July 31
Class Outline:
- Week 1: Slab building
- Week 2: Coil building
- Week 3: Glazing and Surface decoration
- Week 4: Pinch pot forms
- Week 5: Exploring functional and nonfunctional works
- Week 6: Glazing

- Please ensure the course you choose works with your schedule. For any withdrawals, a non-refundable fee of $50 fee per course will be charged, regardless of the reason for withdrawal. Withdrawals will not be accepted for any reason within 10 business days prior to the program start date or after the program has begun.

Instructor
Natalie Fisher
Natalie is a passionate young artist with more than 15 years of experience teaching art to students of all ages. She is formally trained in drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture. She recently received her Masters in Expressive Arts Therapy from the University of Hong Kong.
