Hand Building (Beginner)

For ages 18+
Learn the fundamentals of working with clay in this 4-week class. Participants will be guided in hand-building methods such as pinching, slab building, and coiling to create functional and sculptural wares. This class is designed for students new to ceramics.
This class includes access to a 5kg bag of clay, glazes, and underglazes. Additional bags can be purchased for $18 each.
Class dates: January 8, 15, 22, 29
Class Outline:
- Week 1: Pinching and coiling: Build a mug, bowl, bud vase, or sculptural piece
- Week 2: Slab techniques: Make a plate, tray, bowl, or sculptural piece and experiment with texture
- Week 3: Apply techniques to a new project or finish existing projects as needed
- Week 4: Glazing only: Decorate and complete your pieces

- Please ensure the course you choose works with your schedule. For any withdrawals, a non-refundable fee of $50 fee per course will be charged, regardless of the reason for withdrawal. Withdrawals will not be accepted for any reason within 10 business days prior to the program start date or after the program has begun.
