Simply Bowls (Stoneware)

Using stoneware clay, make serving bowls, wobbly bowls, nesting bowls, soup bowls, dog bowls, or any other type of bowl that you can think of. Take inspiration for the Gardiner’s collection of contemporary ceramics and pottery from the Ancient Americas.
Your instructor will demonstrate how to design and construct simple forms by wheel throwing and hand building. Students will also learn various glazing techniques to apply to fired pieces. This class is open to all skill levels.
Please note: For the stoneware classes, one bag of stoneware clay is provided per student. Additional bags can be purchased for $35 each.

Instructor
Audrey Mah
Audrey Mah is a contemporary ceramic artist residing in Toronto. She studied visual arts with an interest in Sculpture/Ceramics at the University of Waterloo, and graduated with a degree in Fine Arts. She continued her ceramic arts education at the Ontario College of Art. While there, she was awarded a scholarship which included a residency at the Instituto Allende in Mexico. Audrey’s work has been exhibited locally and internationally. She is inspired by the contrast in geometric and organic forms, as well as ergonomic and practical forms of dishware.
