August 17 @ 9:00 am – August 21 @ 12:00 pm
Summer Camp: Clay Creatures (Ages 9 – 12)
Monday August 17 – Friday August 21, 2026
9:00 am – 12:o0 pm
Let your imagination run wild in this half-day camp! Campers will journey into the galleries to meet some of the real and mythical creatures in our collection, like a 400-year-old Chinese dragon and an ancient Peruvian musical parrot, and use clay and other craft materials to make their own imaginary beasts in our pottery studio.
Guided by an experienced artist-educator, campers will practice hand building, sculpting, glazing, and painting sculptures made from clay, and other craft materials. They’ll also strengthen their observation, critical thinking, and communication skills through engaging activities, all while flexing their imagination in a fun and inclusive environment.
About Summer Camp
In our popular summer camps, kids and teens can embrace their creativity through clay and other art materials in our fully equipped pottery studios. They’ll learn new skills—hand building or wheel throwing, and various decorating and glazing techniques—in a engaging and supportive environment. Each camp is taught by our experienced artist-educators, who also guide campers through the galleries to get inspired by the fascinating objects on display.
Camp Schedule
Campers will have a 10-minute snack break every day.
