Wheel Throwing (Beginner)

Students will be inspired by wheel-thrown works in the Gardiner Museum’s world-renowned permanent collections to create their own functional and sculptural pieces with earthenware clay and glazes. This course is designed for students new to the pottery wheel.

Instructor
Hannun Lyn
Hannun Lyn’s life has been the melding of both East and West. She was raised with traditional Chinese culture and ritual, surrounded by the luxuries of North American life. Her education includes a Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec, followed ten years later by a degree in Ceramics, with Honours, from Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario. Hannun creates small batch ceramics in her Kensington studio and currently teaches at the Gardiner Museum and JCC in Toronto. “Connection with the clay community gave me so much more than I ever expected. Education gave me back that wonder and awe about clay.”
