Description

Artist Statement:

My work is riddled with whimsical and spirited forms inspired by my resonation with ceramic vessels tied to eras passed. My inspiration is drawn from extravagant function while walking the line between modern day society and past historian potters. Bringing in the new while simultaneously honouring the ones that came before. My work encompasses the concepts of maximalism by breaking the boundaries of time. I wish to integrate fantasies and sound structures; to bind the imagination with the body. The tones in my pieces are a reflection of the colours we see when we are wide eyed and unconfined, like a child on the playground. – Taylor Chan
