Description

Artist Statement:

In this body of work created through the mentorship with Susan Low Beer, I have ventured into new artistic territory. By incorporating human figures and exploring larger-scale compositions. All while preserving my love for tiny details. Clay serves as my instinctive medium allowing me to articulate and process my innermost thoughts and emotions.  As well as conveying the narratives that resonate from deep within me. Through sculpting, carving, and illustrating using a diverse range of underglazes.

Recent, unexpected, and intimate encounters with wildlife have sparked a profound curiosity for the complex emotions and connections between humans and various creatures. I am completely awestruck by the extraordinary interactions and natural bonds that can transcend notions of hierarchy in the animal kingdom. It is astounding to witness compelling evidence. Suggesting that many animals likely experience a full range of emotions, including fear, joy, happiness, shame, embarrassment, resentment, jealousy, rage, anger, and and the greatest of these, LOVE.– Terri Del Signore
