Commedia Dell’arte: Acting Funny

April 1, 2018 @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm

Commedia Dell'arte

FREE REGISTRATION

Included with admission.

Commedia Dell’arte is a form of theatre first developed in 16th century Italy. Commedia is known for its masks, stock characters and how the performances lampooned the current events of the day. In this family-friendly workshop led by dance, theatre, and circus artist Zita Nyarady, participants will explore different characters from Commedia Dell’arte. We will walk, talk and dance as Dottore, Pantalone, Arlecchino and more. The workshop will conclude with a parade of Commedia Dell’arte characters through the Museum.

Families can also take part in a tile-painting workshop in the Community Clay Studio.
