Tile Painting: Canadian Clay

In preparation for Canada Day and the 150th anniversary of Confederation, we’ll explore the work of Canadian ceramic artist, Jim Smith. Find this piece in the Modern and Contemporary Gallery, and look closely at the different images that decorate it. Do you see any Canadian symbols?

Join us in the Community Clay Studio to paint tiles using symbols that represent your own version of Canada. Remember, admission is free for visitors 18 and under!*

*Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
